Clinical Overview-Complication-Diagnostic Tool

Clinical Overview-Complication-Diagnostic Tool
- There are signs of systemic anemia.
- intense pain due to severe vascular occlusion in disease.
- a serious bacterial infection caused by the ability of the spleen to filter mikroorganisrne inadequate.
- Splenomegaly due to lymphatic cleanse dead cells, sometimes causing an acute crisis.

Diagnostic Tool
- In 1949, Linus Pauling said that sickle cell anemia a molecular disease, this assumption is based on differences in electrophoretic mobility of hemoglobin in the blood cells in patients with homozygous sickle cell (HbSS) compared with individuals who have normal hemoglobin A and heterozygous U.S.. Today, hemoglobin electrophoresis is used to identify the presence of sickle cell hemoglobin and confirm the disease. Normal hemoglobin electrophoretic screening for newborns is the standard treatment in the United States and other countries to monitor high-risk births.
- serial blood examination showed decreased hematocrit, hemoglobin, and red blood cell count.
- prenatal examination identified a homozygous status of the fetus.

Complication
- The incidence of vaso-occlusive infarction resulted in a network that can cause intense pain and disability.
- blood trapped in a sudden in the spleen, called sequestration spleen, can lead to hypovolemia, shock, and potential death. Causes of spleen sequestration is not known with certainty, but may occur with fever and pain. The spleen is often removed after the sequestration event. The absence of the spleen resulted in lowering the ability of individuals respond to the infection process.
- Stroke the cause weakness, convulsions, or inability to talk to occur due to blockage of blood vessels of the brain.
- aplastic crisis can occur during bone marrow erythropoiesis pause.
- avascular necrosis of long bones of leg or arm may occur because of occlusion or blockage. Sekuela hip dislocation is a common result of severe disruption.
- Priapism, an erection long and painful, can occur due to vaso-occlusive penile blood vessels, this condition can cause impotence in some cases.
